I don’t know about you, but I don’t consider a $500 purchase a “throwaway item.” In fact, considering the economy and the job market, I take pride and care with EVERYTHING that I purchase. The same is true for Coach Purses.

A Coach bag is one of the highest quality handbags available on the market. They are made of the finest materials and are extremely durable, but even the best needs some TLC from time to time.

First of all, this type of handbag is not an over treated piece of material. The reason I know this is the high quality material that Coach uses. The finer the quality of the leather, the less actual treatment or chemicals will have to be used for the final product. Chemicals are often used to treat leather of lesser quality to help correct the imperfections. These purses should look, feel, and smell like real leather. Don’t destroy that by using chemical cleaners or harsh brushes. If your bag is soiled, simply try a damp cloth to wipe the handbag clean and make sure to dry it quickly.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is trying to iron their leather handbags. Sounds crazy, but it happens. If someone has improperly stored their Coach purse, the leather, because it is pliable and can change shape, may become misshapen and simply look funny. This can happen when the material gets moist and then dries out over time. If you DO encounter this problem, and you are forced to take action to restore the original look of your bag, make sure to place your iron on the lowest setting, and put a cloth between the iron and the handbag. Simply run the iron over the bag a few times and this should do the trick. Another suggestion is to simply fill your bag with towels or rags so that it is bloated and full. Let the bag sit for 48 hours in room temperature and this can help your bag to reshape itself.

Finally, if your bag is damaged, either at the seams or the leather in general, many dry cleaners can make the necessary repairs, or you can even send the bag directly to Coach who will provide the repairs to your genuine Coach purse at a reasonable cost. In general, taking care of your handbag is simple. Nevertheless, if you pay attention to it from time to time, your bag will last for years to come.
